AD/HD Society of the Philippines
The AD/HD Society of the Philippines is a young and dynamic organization committed to creating a loving, understanding and supportive environment for children, adolescents and adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Since its formal organization in 2001, the Society has vigorously pursued a nationwide awareness campaign on the disorder which is estimated to affect at least 5-7% of the school-aged children in the Philippines. It has also continuously stepped up its skills training programs for parents, teachers, therapists, guidance counselors, day-care workers and other caregivers - in the public and private sectors - so as to ensure a more effective management of the AD/HD individual both at the home and school environments. The Society has also began its quest for government support for its various projects and looks forward to future legislation that will ensure the protection of the rights of the individuals with the disorder.
