Seminar on Academic Coaching

The half-day seminar was held last July 25 at the Benitez Theater, College of Education, UP Diliman. The resource speaker was Dr. Rose Aligada, Senior professional lecturer of the College of Education (Graduate School) of Miriam College, and member of the advisory board and co-founder of the AD/HD Society of the Philippines. She discussed the different learning functions (e.g., attention, memory, language, visual-spatial abilities, sequencing), how these functions work together and how these affect a child’s performance in school. She also presented strategies to help the child address learning difficulties. More than 300 parents, educators, and therapists attended the seminar.
